I had big problems with the rear light function.

I've been using these LEDs extensively for the past few months and have encountered a few issues that have led me to return to incandescent bulbs. At first everything was fine with these headlights. I ordered these for my 2005 Toyota Sienna with 1157 style brake and parking light fittings. They are very bright and have all the benefits of traditional LEDs. I usually drive a lot at night and one of the issues I had was the difference between the tail light just coming on with the headlights and when you step on the brake. When working properly, applying the brakes while the headlights are on will increase the brightness by approximately 20%. However, I noticed that after a good hour of driving at night, they don't get any lighter when I press the brake pedal. At night they stayed the same light whether I slowed down or not. That would end up being pretty dangerous as the cars behind me assume I'm not braking. Prior to these bulbs I bought Sylvania ZEVO LED bulbs and they worked great (apart from the fact that they were significantly dimmer than long life bulbs so I went with them). Other LED bulbs I've used and regular incandescent bulbs I've used haven't had this problem. They got brighter than running lights when the brakes were applied. The bottom line of my review is that I spent $20 on them and ten more when I went out and bought new bulbs. I suppose if you drive mostly during the day and don't turn on your headlights during the day in inclement weather, this will work for you. However, for me I would rather have slow incandescent bulbs than no dimming at all at night.

Pros
  • Great for me
