I got this back brace to use as a heating pad only as its more convenient to have a heating pad that you can wear. I removed the metal braces, the heating pad attaches securely to the belt via velcro. You then plug it into the included 5000mah battery pack. A usb c to a cable is included to charge the battery pack, but the battery pack can charge using a usb c to c cable as well. I would recommend sizing up one size from what you expect as its a tighter fit than expected. I tested this with three people, myself, my wife, and my mother in law. We all agreed the sizing was off. The pad heats up well and the belt other than the sizing fits well. The wires from the heating pad to the battery pack pocket are also a little longer than necessary. Per the manual, the heating pad and the belt can be hand washed.
