The package arrived badly dented but luckily the cheese grater appeared to be intact. "Fortunately," I say, but whatever. Sharp metal edges right where your hands are. There is not enough room to hold the grater on the high torque end of the handle without stripping your knuckles. So I tried grating the cheese by holding it near the end of the hinge which resulted in almost no grating and what did I find? The cheese that has ALREADY gone through the grater will be covered with a gray-black coating that will separate from the grater drum. Anyone know what this chrome residue is? News? All I can say is that my first plate of pasta was ruined with this grater and the grater went straight into the bin. Avoid like the plague!
