Cheaper than the big department stores. I started with 4 on one long shelf and 4 more on another long shelf. So when it came time for more shelves, I felt like I stuck with this style for consistency. However, I have since spotted a few on Etsy that, while more expensive, seem to have a better and more stylish design and may be of better quality. plain pine, I built 4 of these right into the studs. Even if there's nothing on the shelf, I just put my hand on it with little to no pressure and they start bowing. As such, I'm incredibly suspicious of any weight limitations or features included in the description. Otherwise they seem to be ok. But I certainly don't expect these 4 brackets to hold even 100 pounds let alone a few hundred.
