Review on 🔽 Efficiently Reduce from 2-1/2-Inch to 1-1/2-Inch with POWERTEC 70138 Reducer by Damon Atonyo

I got this to adapt my Dewalt DWE575 circular saw dust attachment to my vacuum cleaner. The problem is that it's a 1 1/4" outlet and my Ridgid shop vacuum uses 2 1/2" fittings. I have a Powertech 2 1/2 to 1 1/4 adapter that fits my vacuum hose perfectly, but the 1 1/4 end is the same size as the outlet on the duster so one doesn't fit the other (rather than the od on one is the same as the id on the other, they have about the same od and id). I bought this blue striped hose from the Lowe's plumbing department, it sells for about $4 each. It fits the gear perfectly but it was too tight for the dust cap so I used a heat gun and a bottle of foam filter oil in the picture. The bottle has the perfect neck size to pull out the hose and fit the dust collector. I warmed it up and pushed it down the neck to reveal the it. Fits perfectly after a few uses. Everything is now very tight and perfectly sealed. Works perfectly. I also have a Dewalt random orbit sander which has a perfect hose fit without stretching. I cut the tube in half and used the half to make a Powertech reducing adapter for it. I don't do many reviews, but sorting that out can be a real headache. Hopefully this review helps others with the same problem.
