SOFT METALLURGY Pros and cons

I'm a serious mountain biker and I ride XTR SPD. I also like to jump, but as I get older I don't do it anymore. do something like that if, haha, there is a product on the internet. My plan was to leave the platforms on all the time and only use them for rock gardens and technical stuff. My rating is only about strength or metallurgy. They are strong but also easily malleable or stretchable. However, they have not become too hard. When I first took them, I was strapped on the other side of the pedal and these platforms are on the bottom. I hit the rock with one pedal stroke and the entire quarter of the platform flexed about 10mm or 1/2 inch. Too bad. Aluminum(i)um is therefore soft enough to bend. The upside to this, however, is that when I took the bolts out and placed the cage in a vise, I hit it with a hammer to flatten it out, rather than just cutting it off. Conclusion: soft enough to bend, soft enough to bend back. at least once. (Of course, they fold down if you only put weight on the pedal on one side.) (cleats not included) (BMX cleats/pins are not hardened and easily abrade rocks) I'm a serious mountain biker, the XTR moves. I also love jumping and was about to do something similar when, haha, an online product came out. My plan was to leave the platforms on all the time and only use them for rock gardens and technical stuff. My rating is for durability only, metallurgy to be precise.
