I bought this when it was on sale for $19 ($29 I write). Price, I couldn't go wrong. But I was really wrong. The packaging itself isn't too bad, as long as you don't mind cutting off some loose threads. My problem is in the hydration system. The bladder had to be rinsed/soaked very well several times to get the horrible chemical smell out. The bite valve would not release the water. I bought another valve thinking it wouldn't be a big deal since I had so little money to buy a backpack and adjusting the valve seemed like a sound investment. Satisfied that the valve issue was resolved, I packed my backpack and filled my bladder for the hike. the next day. In the morning the backpack got wet because the bladder was leaking. Leaking appears to occur where the ribbed fill area adheres to the body of the bladder. You can't do anything about it. I suspect this is a quality control issue, not a design flaw. Bottom line: I'm sending this package back. If you're looking to return a decent book this might work for you, but I wouldn't recommend it as a hydration system.
