Review on πŸ›€ Oak Bath Brush with Horsehair Bristles by Ricky Faith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best assembly, durable, high quality brushes. There is no ban.

Finally after 30 years of daily use I had to replace it. I tried several others before finding the original one again, so I can honestly say this is the best approach. The wiring approach means no glue is used, so it won't fall apart in hot water. The lack of a plastic plate to hold the hair means the pieces won't break or fall out over time. will mold or the nails holding it in place will not rust over the fabric. The non-detachable head ensures that it does not constantly slip off. A fairly long handle means you can reach between your shoulder blades. Horsehair (as opposed to nylon, boar, or grass) means you absorb water to lather it up. For reference, nylon doesn't absorb water, and unless it's just right for you, it's never going to change. Also, nylon will wrinkle after exposure to hot water for a while. And the ends of the nylon brush are square cut and sharp - they cause micro damage to your skin (compared to the naturally rounded/soft ends of horsehair) and cause acne but don't improve it. Incidentally, the same applies to the brushes from Lufa. Boar is good too, but too harsh for me (I think it's better for wiping unless you want to exfoliate a top layer or two of skin every morning). So this brush is really good. perfect and will last for the next 30 years. If you want Scandinavian clean leather, skip the bamboo handle/nylon/grass bristle brushes that won't help you and go for the best. This.

  • The oak horsehair bath brush is made of solid oak wood with soft horsehair bristles that are hand-braided instead of glued; The brush is natural and mildew resistant and made to last
Cons
  • I don't remember
