My son loves it as a musical toy

My son loves it and is excited for a new one! We've had a hand me down since 2003! And as soon as he figured it out, he started breaking down, so I bought this one. I love that there are jungles and farm animals here, not just farm animals. He loves the sound of a little bouquet! Good product and your little one will love it (sorry for the clutter in my house!)

Doesn't work properly.

Not working properly. When you press the lever, the animal sound should play when the arrow hits the animal. Not this product. The animal sound only starts when you pull the lever. And at first I thought I had a defective one, but I ordered a replacement and it did the same. If that's how they "should" work, it's the wrong job.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Updates available

Not easy to use, best in musical toys

Lever is difficult to push all the way down and won't work if you don't. Half the time my kids push it, it spins and nothing happens. You have to hold it with one hand while you press the lever. It should have a wider base so that it can be operated with one hand. Also turning the pages is difficult even for adults as they get stuck and there is no comb to grab hold of to turn them. I really wanted to like it, but it's a poor rendition of a classic.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • So far so good

Small version - not worth the money

Therefore I deducted three points and only gave two stars. Size: This toy is much smaller than the original, what you received seems overpriced. "Mini" version. Functionality: This is a child's toy, but too complex and complicated for a child that needs an adult to help. The rope to activate the toy is so difficult to pull that my son can't pull it hard enough to make it work. Sound Quality: Unfortunately, animal sounds were too hard to hear due to the whirlwind of the wheel spinning.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • So-so

Damaged Toy.: Musical Toy

This item was packaged to appear as a returned defective/damaged item which was repackaged and reused. Yes, it works quite well, but the toy has a few scratches, scuffs, dents, and dents in various places on the plastic. It looks pretty rough. as i will be using it here in my own home for my kindergarten children i will not be returning it - but it would be unacceptable to give it away if that was my intention. upset.

Pros
  • Good Item
Cons
  • Requires Socket

Non-convenient toy

I wish I had read the other reviews before buying this but found it pretty trite. I was wrong! As others have pointed out, this does not make the sound of the animal being hit by the arrow. It starts making noises when the dart moves but then I found out that if you point the dart at an animal and then pull the lever that's the animal it makes but what kid would ever know about it. I think the traditional 1 makes the sound of an animal on the ground, which makes more sense. It's a lot smaller…

Playing the wrong note for an animal pointing at

Waiting for me to come back (just delivered today). I was very excited to give this as a gift for Christmas but I'm glad I tried it first. He doesn't play the animal he points to. He is one tone behind (points to an elephant and plays a lion, points to a turkey and plays a lion, points to an alligator and plays a turkey, etc.). Really disappointing. Hopefully it's just a buggy and we get a replacement. Update: They let me return it and quickly sent a replacement. same problem when replacing…

  • Quality construction

Decent but impractical

Bought this for my 18 month old to practice his speaking skills and so far I'm loving it (haven't gotten it out of the box yet). The lever twitches slightly and the audio is (super) loud and clear, but I don't plan on letting my son use it alone now, just for learning purposes. One thing you need to know is that you must FIRST point the arrow at the image you want to hear, otherwise you'll pull the lever and hear an animal sound that doesn't match the image the arrow left off. Because of this…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Unreliable

Requires a fairly strong toddler - I think 3 years and over

We bought this for my (then) 1 year old daughter. It was intended as a fun substitute for us, imitating animal sounds to entertain them. Voices and sounds are clear (although some of them are difficult to record phonetically - I'm not sure how to properly describe a hippo's moans and sighs). But there are two things that didn't quite work: 1) You have to aim the arrow at the animal before you pull the lever to hear what the animal is saying. Simple logic for an adult and maybe a three year old.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
