I live on a piece of land with a well that provides our water. The water is not chemically treated but filtered to remove any deposits that may be in the system. The water has some mineral content, although I can't tell what percentage. It has a very pleasant taste. Due to a very thin white film forming on some of our furniture in close proximity to the humidifier, I purchased one of these filters to see if it worked as advertised. Significant shrinkage of the film occurred during the first 4 or 5 days. He then returned to work on the film. I wouldn't waste money buying these filters.
