Review on 🔪 Kuhn Rikon Swiss Peeler Trio - Red, Green, and Yellow Set by Darlene Malone

I waited a few months before writing a review because I read that these knives have a rust problem. Not that I can see. These are the BEST, ABSOLUTELY BEST peelers I've ever used and I'm 70 years old. I was very skeptical at first, especially considering the low cost and seemingly "cheap" construction (plastic). I'll admit I wasn't thrilled the first time I used one, but it turned out to be just as much pressure on it as I had on my previous knife. Once I learned how to "whiten" the peel, these peelers quickly did all peeling tasks, including peaches. I cannot recommend them enough, especially if you have arthritis in your hands and wrists like me. I first heard about them from J. Kenji Lopez Alta's Food Lab, and because I found his book such a treasure, I decided to give it a try. Kenji was right. As for the "rust problem" - as I said, I've been using these cleaners for months with no sign of rust. I don't wash them in the dishwasher. (Why?) Since fruits and vegetables contain no fat, washing them is extremely easy. When I'm done exfoliating, I quickly rinse them under hot water and dry them immediately. They remain as rust-free and sharp (almost dangerously) as the day they arrived. I cannot recommend them enough. ADDED 4/20/18: I've been using these cleaners for a little over 2 years. After a while of using them almost daily I decided to put one of them in the dishwasher. I figured they were cheap enough that even if one was destroyed I could get another. There were no problems washing in the dishwasher. I put them in the cutlery basket on the bottom shelf and see no difference. All three are still as sharp as the day I bought them and no signs of rust. I am 72 years old and I can probably pass this on to someone! You can't go wrong with these vegetable peelers. UPDATE 7/27/20 I've been using scissors for 4 years and wash them regularly in the dishwasher. They are just as sharp as the day I received them. They will clean everything including the pumpkin.
