There are questions about the thickness of this tape in the Questions and Answers section. There are many possible answers, so I measured a piece of translucent (whitish) tape I bought in April 2020. Its thickness is 0.5 mm. When stretched, it naturally becomes thinner. If you try to stretch it too much it will break. One advantage of thin tape, however, is that there isn't much "edge" where the tape ends. The downside, of course, is that you get less tape for the 1" x 36' roll advertised. I've often found it helpful to cut the tape lengthwise to create narrower strips. This is especially helpful when I'm trying to layer a shape. Since this tape only sticks to itself, it's useless unless you're layering or tying something together when you can wrap the tape all the way around and apply multiple layers. Remember it to stretch just before or during the wrap.
