They are stronger than they look. So far I've only installed one to hold my large magazine brush. I was able to screw the screws into a 2x4 stud behind the drywall on the wall. I don't expect the hook to fall until the wall falls. These hooks come complete with screws, anchors, standoffs and screw covers to make the installation look more professional. If your broom or mop handle has a large hole like mine, you can use that one at the end of the hook. Otherwise, lift the handle hook, insert the handle into the horizontal hook, and pull the mop or broom down just enough for the hook and gravity to take over.
