I have hiked for most of my life (a good 20-25 years) and have always been fine. I've gone through many of them. In 2012 I started looking for military style tote bags (I'm not ex-military or LEO) because I liked the durability, strength and adjustability they offered compared to most civilian backpacks. I bought 5.11 Rush 12 and Rush 72; and while they are well designed in terms of organization, I found the ease of use far from ideal for hiking. I wanted two packs but settled on Camelbak HAWG which has served me well for any type of use for over 7 years (great pack which unlike BFM has kept most of its design from 7 years ago to now), but I never went back and replaced my Rush72 with a suitable 72 hour pack - the reason being that all the military packs I've come across had terrible frame/suspension systems compared to civilian packs including the previous BFM. The 72 hour package and some new videos about the new BFM and damn the suspension system of this beauty. Very adjustable, very comfortable for a backpack of this size and weight to carry around. Miles ahead of any other military backpack. Add a new tank design and you have a very versatile and easy to maintain package with a lifetime (product) guarantee. . I'll update this review as I walk him through his steps!
