Review on ๐Ÿ”ง Enhanced Profile Tensioner Synchronous by Creality by Tyler Kota

OK but good. CR10-S5 needs modification

At least once you want something to work right away. Ordered size 2 and 4 spanners (models 2020 and 2040) to fit a Creativity CR-10 S5. The X-axis was pretty straight forward and simple and seemed to fit fairly well (although the strut sticks out about 1cm more, just something to keep in mind if you're short on space). On the Y-axis, attaching the mount itself was fairly easy, but required the use of the original tensioner bolts and nuts rather than the included T-slot nuts. A big disappointment was that the spacing between the road wheels was too narrow for the CR-10 S5's belt (only about 8mm could fit between the wheels when installed, while the CR10 has a 10mm belt). So I had to gradually undermine the plastic spacers and then install the shims between the two bearings to get a solid 10mm gap (see the picture for reference). Another option would be to use the original wheel from the old tensioner, but it is even wider and would require additional filing of the plastic spacers. Additionally, as some other reviewers have pointed out, the new mount gets in the way of the bed at almost full travel and you lose about 1cm of travel. It doesn't matter for the huge S5 bed, and if it does, you could probably sand or file the mount a bit. but why not just make compatible mounts first!? Overall, installing the CR-10 S5 wasn't a big deal and required some fairly simple modifications. But I don't want to change the details every time I try to update something new. In any case, the clamping function works well.
