Good value for money. Read on to find out how to boost your signal!

I purchased this camera kit for my Ford Explorer and 22ft road trailer (total length) with aluminum sidewalls and have been using it for three weeks. but after purchasing a good quality 25ft 2.4GHz SMA coaxial extension cable ($37, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TCKG14D/) and a 2.4GHz High power antenna ($12, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HRPZFZD) that I installed on the FRONT of the trailer. Now the system works PERFECTLY! (I'm an electrical engineer) Important notes: - I strongly recommend connecting a reversing camera to the back of the trailer. the lights. This way you can switch the camera on and off from the driver's seat at any time and it will not constantly drain your battery! (I thought this was going to be tricky but when I opened the cover of one of the work lights it took me only two screws to unscrew it and it pulled out extra wires which were easy to plug in! I originally connected directly to the 12v -DC power the trailer and then connect it back to the headlights) - If you have an aluminum caravan like mine with "standard" antennas, the signal will NOT reach from the back of the trailer to the front of your tractor. even at a fairly short straight-line distance (mine is 35ft), just enough to keep the video flowing smoothly. You will need to add an extension cord and mount the antenna closer to the front of the trailer to get a good signal. I do not recommend the included extension antenna. More on that later. Overall this is a good backup camera kit for the money. I like the quality/durability and the large screen size. That's great! The resolution is not HD, but it is enough for almost every situation. The night vision capabilities are EXCELLENT. I can see amazingly well on very dark nights. The main disadvantage of this kit is the signal range. With the stock antennas (and 35 feet from the rear camera to the front screen) I rarely got even 3fps video on screen, and there were frequent dropouts and black screens for 2-4 seconds. HOWEVER, this can be overcome by running a good quality coaxial extension cable (rated for 2.4GHz) and installing a better antenna near the FRONT of your trailer. This company offers a "remote" antenna, but I DO NOT RECOMMEND it. poor FPS and drop out, I ordered and installed the offered extension antenna but the improvement was very small. The extension antenna they sell uses very poor quality coaxial cable which is NOT rated to carry 2.4GHz signals at 12ft (the length of the cable they provide). With this configuration, the cable itself reduces your signal strength by >75%! I also didn't have enough length to move the antenna to the front of the trailer. I then ordered a coax extension cable rated for these frequencies: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TCKG14D/ and ran the cable the full length of the trailer to the front and used a 2.4- Higher gain GHz antenna installed: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HRPZFZDNNow I always have 4 bars of solid signal and have never had a dropout, even with the wifi hotspot running in the car at the same time. High quality reversing camera for my motorhome. Note. Even at full signal strength, the frame rate of this video stream does not reach 30 frames per second. I'm guessing it's rated at 10 fps. It's not really a minus because it's enough for towing, but I was surprised that the video isn't as "smooth" as cinema or standard video. Update: After 5 months of driving and over 15,000 miles, the camera still works great! It has paid off many, many times. Now I really can't imagine towing or reversing without a backup camera.
