This splitter worked for Samsung K850 and K950 soundbars

We have new 2020 Samsung TVs with Dolby Atmos or Dolby Vision pass-through support. When I bought new TVs, I was hoping that Dolby Atmos would work with the old Samsung K850 and K950 soundbars because of the passthrough support. This doesn't work as soundbars use ARC and TVs use eARC. I tested 3 configurations with this splitter: This inexpensive splitter worked pretty well for a simple configuration. 1. First Configuration: This is the obvious configuration where the HDMI-OUT of the soundbar is connected to the HDMI-IN of the splitter. The output of the splitter was connected to the TV and soundbar. As others have reported, it didn't work. But I don't think it's a splinter problem. Same as K850 and K950 soundbar problem as the HDMI OUT soundbar is HDMI 2.0 and broadcasts ARC. The splitter does not recognize the ARC used by the soundbar.2. Second configuration: using a splitter via Fire TV Cube. This worked and sent Dolby Atmos to both soundbars. This proves that the soundbar's HDMI-OUT is not being received by the splitter. 1) The Fire-TV Cube is connected to the HDMI-IN of the splitter. The EDID switch on the splitter is set to "Copy" (labeled as "Auto" in the user manual).2) The HDMI 1 output of the splitter is connected to the HDMI IN input of the TV. Zoom would not turn on.3) The HDMI-2 OUT of the splitter is connected to the HDMI-1 on the soundbar. Scaling not included. NOTE 1: I have tested the K850 and K950 soundbars with and without the firmware update. discovered that the firmware update eliminated the Dolby Atmos script that required starting a stream and reverting to the same HDMI port on the soundbar. NOTE 2: If the video is purple or grainy, try setting the EDID switch to 4K. It should be clear. If the video is not clear, set the scaling on each HDMI OUT connector (check one by one)3. Third configuration: The main TV uses a cable box. The output from the cable box isn't 4K, so the splitter didn't check. This will likely work with a 4K cable box. 1) Keep HDMI-OUT Direct TV connected to HDMI-1 IN on TV. Used a splitter and a Fire TV Cube. 2) TV and soundbar inputs had to be switched to either Direct TV or Fire TV. Everything worked but no ARC or eARC controls to make the task easier. --- TV-Inputs: Uses Cable TV and Fire TV as names for the TV's HDMI ports. --- Soundbar inputs: Fire TV used HDMI-2 on the soundbar. I had to connect an optical cable from the cable tv box to the soundbar and use D.IN for cable tv sound. 3) The family was confused by changing TV and soundbar. The cable box and soundbar configuration requires a device that can convert ARC to eARC. IN for cable TV sound. 3) The family was confused by changing TV and soundbar.
