Review on Jameco Benchpro Electric Desolder Removal by Nale Dunn

No safety information is printed on the box (but most buyers are likely to know which end gets hot when plugged in). There is no lamp or LED indicator to show that the device is connected and hot. It takes a few minutes to warm up to temperature and smokes a storm when you first turn it on. Having heat and suction in one one-handed tool is much more convenient for removing parts than having a soldering iron in one hand and a pump in the other, and no third hand for removing stuck parts. With this tool I was able to clean the entire circuit board in just a few minutes. Much better than those cheap plastic suction pumps! I'd give it 5 stars, but the lack of an 'on' indicator knocks it down a notch in my opinion. Otherwise a good product.
