Description of Jameco Benchpro Electric Desolder Removal

30 Watt: Powerful enough to remove common soldering mistakes found on small devices. Heats up quickly. Easy Operation: Designed for right or left-hand operation. Quickly heats up and uses a strong vacuum pump to remove solder. Lays flat: When not in use or when in-between jobs, the desoldering pump lays lat with the hot tip elevated to prevent from unwanted burns. Used to correct mistakes with small boards on PCBs, re-solder mechanical keyboard switches, remove relays and other components from printed circuit boards, unsoldering old wires, desoldering computer parts like motherboards, clean alloy on smd components and more.

Great idea, didn't work for me.

I have a small project that only required me to solder four relays. It was worth a try, but with minimal suction and difficulty maintaining proper canning, it wasn't worth the effort and I gave up trying to make it work. Didn't want to overheat the components and risk further damage to the board.

Pros
  • Soldering and Soldering Supplies
Cons
  • Crumpled

This is my third electric desoldering machine. The first (30W with separate ground wire) had poor suction and heat. To compensate for the poor heating of the first, the second was at 40 watts. It generated more heat, enough to soon have to replace the tip. NOZZLES NOT ACCESSIBLE The suction setback is a bit annoying. The Jameco Benchpro electric desoldering pump has replaceable tips, plenty of heat and a gentle kickback when sucking up solder.

Pros
  • Tools and household goods
Cons
  • Some little things

Works well for welding and soldering

No safety information is printed on the box (but most buyers are likely to know which end gets hot when plugged in). There is no lamp or LED indicator to show that the device is connected and hot. It takes a few minutes to warm up to temperature and smokes a storm when you first turn it on. Having heat and suction in one one-handed tool is much more convenient for removing parts than having a soldering iron in one hand and a pump in the other, and no third hand for removing stuck parts.
