Works as expected but without the bells and whistles of some other car ashtrays (LEDs, fans, electronic lighters etc) this one is pretty meager. It's also not airtight, so if you put a smoldering cigarette in it, it won't go out immediately when you close the lid. There are little slots you can use to put out the cigarette or keep for yourself, which works well and is nice, but you'll need a toothpick or something to clean it after a while. If you also smoke rolling cigars like me, this is also great for keeping them handy and protected. Slightly inhibits odors.
