Not safety certified - not for use in USA

Very cool product with USB connectors. But upon receipt learned that the plastic making up the product is not the typical ABS you would expect from a product of this type. Plastics description updated to UL 94 V-0 but unknown. Does this apply to the thickness used? Big problem, the product is not certified for safety by any company. If you look at the back of the product, there is no UL mark or any similar mark. The cable is UL certified, but the product does not contain anything else. The seller's email claimed it was FCC and CE, but neither of these markings are proof that the product failed a safety evaluation for sale in the United States. It is not clear if the CE mark is a CE mark for export to the EU or to China (they look almost the same). No certificate or file number specified. The cable may be mis-rated, 18 AWG seems too low. The updated description claims to include temporary protection, but the product doesn't list the level of protection and there's no way to confirm the level of protection. No mention of joules or forward voltage. I could go on, but that would require jailbreaking the device. It can be helpful for Revain to ensure that electrical products are certified for safety by an independent certification body.
