All other sets of reusable straws seem to come in a case that isn't easy to wash or otherwise difficult to carry. So I was very happy with this set. That's a good idea and I hope it catches on. That's why I bought this one. And that's why I hate to give her a mixed review. Straws are good, very good in fact. But the first time it was washed in the dishwasher, the case itself became streaked and discolored. And the bottom plug (which I removed to allow water to flow through the pipe) swelled up so it couldn't be put back in. I would not advertise the case as "dishwasher safe". Last problem, I'll live with a broken case - if it works I don't care what it looks like. The straws appear durable and of high quality. Conclusion: buy it, but maybe just wash the case by hand to be on the safe side.
