I recently bought a second set of these plugs when replacing plug wires. I found that the first set I wore a few years ago is still in good condition. They were discolored in a few places next to the distributor and had a hole or two in them from a mouse while the truck was being disassembled. I bought new ones when replacing my wires just because they look better and having your wires next to the exhaust manifold is a cheap extra protection. In this case, my truck is supercharged, so those sleeves with the extra head and tight space are a must.
