As mentioned, you have to toggle the lights on and off a few times to get them into pairing mode. This was not mentioned in the instructions. As for brightness, they work great in the default "white" mode. However, the colors are some of the most dull colors I've seen from a lamp. I can't see much of anything using any of the color options. It is mostly pitch black with a faint hint of the emitted color. Even with three of them I can't see anything in the room I'm in. They don't appear to emit any light, but rather look like a faint light reflecting behind the stained glass. The app's integration with Google is also pretty terrible. . I would say that 4/5 times only two bulbs change color and one stays the same. I often get the response "light not responding" to a request. This has happened to me sometimes even when using the default app. The app itself appears to be open source, over which many different Chinese brands are working. I bought another brand that uses the same app even though they are from different manufacturers. I've had great results with both Hue products and TP Link Kasa, but candelabra fan lights from most top brands are hard to come by. I've had pretty bad results in my attempts to find cheap alternatives. While no bin fires like Osram Lightify products, they still don't work or change color about 50% or more of the time. Maybe I was unlucky or got defective bulbs, but still I was quite disappointed with these bulbs. They cause more frustration than convenience and are best avoided.
