Corsair is King: Computer Components

Received this as part of my new computer that was built last Thanksgiving. I have to say this is a great article. I've only ever used Corsair for my PSU and they've never let me down. However, I was a bit upset to discover that I had bought a semi-modular rather than a FULLY modular one. I always recommend the fully modular option (all cables are separate, which makes cable maintenance easier), but I will say that you won't be disappointed if you choose not to go fully modular or screw it up like I did thereby. The build is solid, the cables are very good and they even print the model logo right side up when you face the fan down (which you should always do with an exhaust fan) so the logo isn't upside down and looks funny. In terms of performance, I think it's enough for my body type. My build is for gaming and video/photo rendering, so it can consume quite a bit of power. Luckily, my prior knowledge of my latest build allowed me to save a few bucks by not picking too much performance. This is my build: * Asus Maximus Hero IV motherboard * Intel Core i7 7700k (not overclocked at the moment) * Asus GTX 1070 8GB ROG STRIX graphics card (not overclocked at the moment) * Corsair HV100i V2 AIO water cooler (super nice) * Samsung 850 EVO 250GB 2.5" SATA SSD * 1TB HDD (upgrading to larger soon) * Windows 10 Pro I use high settings for my games: Battlefield 1, Rocket League (not that demanding), Assassin's Creed Origins, etc. This PSU has NEVER turned on the fan because it doesn't use that much. Estimated usage of my setup was around 350w and I look for PSUs that are around 20-30% higher than my expected wattage. Everyone has their own methods of choosing from PSUs so there isn't always one right way but if you want to save a few bucks and still get a gold certified PSU this is a good choice I will put this +
