Review on 🌞 3M Anti-Glare Filter for 15.6" Widescreen Laptop: AG156W9B – Reduce Glare for Crystal Clear Display! by Keith Alvord

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Works as advertised but with a sticky install (literally)

I bought a 14 inch anti-glare filter for my Lenovo YOGA 910 laptop with its beautiful 4K (3840 x 2160) display. The only issue with the Nearly Perfect Notebook is screen mirroring. This filter eliminates glare without a doubt, but it's a messy setup in my opinion. My filter came with slide mounting tabs, not mounting strips. The main difference between the two, as far as I can tell, is whether the slide holder tabs attach to the display while the attachment strips attach to the filter. I hated sticking anything sticky to my beautiful display, but I went with it. I had to re-tap the adhesive tabs twice but I finally have everything in place and don't have to worry about bubbles as the filter is not glued to the screen and 'hangs' in the slide mount tabs, the filter stays on when I open and close the lid, it's not exactly stable. It slides a little on the display if you press hard, but since I just installed it I'm hoping it sticks better over time. Another good point is that the touchscreen functionality still works. I don't think it's as responsive as it used to be, but it works. I've attached an image so you can see the slide mount tabs. I took the shot around 6pm CT so the sun wasn't really a factor, but the filter made a big difference early in the day when I was outside, as did the glare from the overhead lights.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Some bugs
