I wore Merrell Sieve water shoes for a long time, which I really liked. However, when my old pair wore out, I couldn't find a new pair in my size, so I ended up buying these water shoes, which I generally like, although I don't know if I like them as much as the sieves. The first thing I noticed is that the profile is almost like cleats. I suspect it helps with grip but it was still a bit odd. Maybe that makes them last longer than my screens? The other difference is that there's a single insert that I kind of have a love-hate relationship with. Whenever I take my feet out of the shoe, the insert partially comes out (unless I'm wearing socks, and who wears socks with sandals?). But the inserts are washable. A recurring problem I have with these sandals (also Sieves and Keens) is that they wear out over time. These removable inserts can be cleaned, which helps with that. Do I get the screens or them when they wear out? Maybe Sita. Not quite sure. It's not that I hate her, but I don't like her either. In general, these are good shoes.
