Cool pet for aquarium decoration

My students chose it for our cool pet fighting fish. It fits perfectly in our small aquaponics aquarium. But every time we put it in the aquarium, even after a thorough cleaning, algae will start to grow and we will have to clean the aquarium again. It's only when we put that particular item in the tank. I hope that after thorough cleaning it can be kept in the aquarium for our fish.
