Did a little research before buying a pair of these. And I found these sockets to be the thinnest I've looked at, adding just over 1.5 inches to the front of the lamp. The setup was a bit fiddly. It is very important to choose the right socket/switch in the Smart Life App. The one that worked for me was "switch (other)". Wi-Fi, I gave them names and put them in their final locations. They connected within a minute and worked flawlessly. I then asked Alexa to "open" it, which she did with no problem. so that I can then activate the socket switches by voice. Finally, I set up a few procedures in the Alexa app so that they turn on and off automatically when I open/close the door to the area where they are installed. (The door has a contact sensor from another company that Alexa also recognizes) Order four more of these to finish automating all the other lights in the garage and basement.
