Review on ULAK Retina Shockproof Protective Kickstand by Joseph Long

Good Price in the Computers and Accessories Category

Overall I thought it was a good deal for the price. Essentially Otter, but at a lower price point. I just needed a little protection from my young children. It's adequate protection and I think it's a fair price. There are a few cons that are pickier than deal breakers. I only took one star off them so leave that as a hint that they don't matter much. First, the buttons are a bit harder to press, but doable. Second, the connector that protects the Lightning connector puts pressure on the cable attached to it. I suspect this will compromise the port, but time will tell. I'm considering turning it off as I don't need this port airtight. The Lightning connectors are much more durable than the micro-USB, which gets finicky after a bit of pushing, so I'm hoping that won't be an issue. After all, the stand is just waiting to be broken. I've had cheap plastic coasters like this on tablet cases and all the kid has to do is forget it's open and bang it on something at the wrong angle. Another thing, we'll see how long it lasts. I would have preferred the more vulnerable parts to be metal rather than plastic. I would pay a few euros more so that part of it doesn't break. If this is for clumsy adults, the question remains. In general I'm quite happy with it. It is a combination of rubber and plastic that is ideal for shock absorption and cost saving. This is just a case for a little extra protection. I don't think I'm the only one who thinks that minimal protection like this shouldn't cost too much. In that respect I am very satisfied with the purchase.
