I bought it to use in a Lenovo T440p with only 4GB RAM. Initially I thought the RAM was faulty because the laptop is POSTing but not loading Windows. Then I thought the laptop had a bad memory slot. But I ran the machine with only one flash drive in each of the memory banks, and every time Windows started, I proved that the memory slots weren't bad. I then checked Lenovo's website and saw that there were multiple BIOS versions since I received the device. I used Lenovo's Windows-based update utility to update the BIOS. After updating the BIOS, the machine created and loaded Windows. A quick check of the memory settings in the BIOS and in Windows shows that the memory is running at its nominal 1866 MHz. If you're having trouble getting your laptop to work, check the manufacturer's website for any BIOS updates that may help.
