As an electrician I often use various crimp connectors. We use the T&B brand most of the time at work and I have had good results. The Scosche brand did well and I like the shrink feature which is probably in a 3:1 or 4:1 ratio. I used them to splice a stereo wiring harness, one side was 18 the other varied from 18 to 14 and the end plugs accepted everything. I don't know if it was my crimping tool (channel lock crimp tool) or connectors, but on quite a few of these (both sides of the connection ie 18 and 16, 18 and 14 etc.) I didn't have to use either - Insulated crimp area to get a strong to maintain connection as the wire slips out (and back for re-crimping!). As a result of using a non-insulating crimp, when I applied heat to shrink the vinyl there was exposed metal in the termination area. I can fix it with tape but it's troublesome. Total cost and performance, 4 out of 5 points. I took off a star for the above issues, but it could be the pliers.
