I love my 23 year old car and needed this simple and inexpensive upgrade to bring it into the 21st century. The advantage of this reversing camera kit: quality + . The mirror is of very good quality. I forgot this is a mirror with built in LCD screen. When the LCD screen is off, you cannot see it. All you see is a mirror that's just as good as any mirror in any car. Video upload to Spiegel - A+. You can see what's on the back very clearly, and the red, yellow, and green labels on the LCD are helpful. Once you understand what to do, installation is easy. A local offered me $250 for the installation which I saved by doing it myself in 1 1/2 hours. The A+ backup camera option for any $30 car is a very good deal! Needs Improvement: The installation guide is poorly written and confusing. The table is better to look at Revain in the product description. No connection to the rear gearbox is required as the instructions incorrectly and confusingly suggest. Also, finding the reverse gear wire is not an easy task on most cars. Just the reverse/taillight connector is enough, which is much easier as the rear/rear cable is easy to find in the trunk. Also, the instructions confusingly suggest connecting power to the ignition, which begs the question of which part of the ignition, constant 12V power to drain the battery, or just power after the engine starts? I connected the power supply to 12vdc and so far it doesn't show that the battery is dead as the mirror is off even when the engine is running unless reverse gear is engaged. In addition, not in the installation guide, you can add the fuses listed in the specifications. Overall, I'm very pleased with this $30 upgrade that brought my car into the 21st century with relatively easy DYI. Update April 2019: The first time I took my car to the car wash, the camera failed. The product description states the year of the guarantee. However, it doesn't say anywhere how to contact the seller. I sent him a question about sending me a replacement camera and he didn't answer. As the one year warranty was not honored in the description I am reducing my rating to 3 as I simply had to buy another camera.
