These do work and for the price point they are pretty good overall. They do have some small issues that while not being my favorite choice still make them work well enough to do the job that most folks would want from them.Good points.Relatively high magnification 10x is useful for getting a better closer view of what you want to see.Easy focusing, the focus wheel is placed in a nice location and easy to reach.Good diopter adjustment, works well and easy to use.For the objective lens size due to the tubular construction these are more compact than traditional style binoculars.Flip down front lens covers, great for keeping dust and dew off the lens.Eyepiece covers good for keeping this end clean.BOTH the bag and the binoculars have neck straps.very nice feature. In this regard better than my Nikon bino.Lightweight padded soft case, protective cases are nice in the field.Lens wipe.I really think that a lens pen is a better option as it will not scratch a lens should you get dust or dirt on it.but a wipe beats using your shirt or a tissue. Not so good pointsKeep in mind some of these issues may not be an issue for you.I am just not thrilled by them.Very small area as far as eye relief and left to right up down as far as eye position. Why is this important because you have to get it lined up just right as far as width and distance from the eyepieces to be able to see out of both eyes.these are more picky about this than most. Considering EVERYTIME they go in the carry bag you will have to readjust them this is annoying. These binoculars do not have eye cups.this means side light is still visible and for those of us that do not use glasses while using binoculars you cant rest them against your face while viewing.annoying when using offhand. But acceptable when using with a rest or tripod. I prefer binoculars that I can fold the cups over I'd I don't wish to use them.Very skinny inexpensive straps.neck straps for the case should be comfortable as you will likely carry them this way 90% of the time you are using them in the field.a nice wide padded stap is a godsend after about 15 min of carry time. The same applies to the binoculars neck strap.a comfortable one is a good asset when viewing as the strap ca be used to stabilize the binoculars while viewing offhand. The so so thingsNot super bright glass.but . good alignment and a clear picture. My lowest end binoculars besides these are Nikon and Vortex.these just are not in the same league. But with that said understand that I spend literally days on end looking through my binoculars when scouting and glassing prior to a hunt.I need them to be as perfect as I can afford so my eyes dont get tired. I also use them before 1st light and after the last glow from the sun.this type of usage demands great glass and great alignment or your eyes will tire quickly. For most folks who want to see the bird over there.or look at the mountain.or other occasional use where it isn't hours on end looking through them, these will likely make you perfectly happy. My "not the brightest glass" and picky about eye placement comments are not really flaws, more i think design compromises due to objective lens to magnification ratio.Let me explain if you have a 40mm objective lens and 10x magnification you will only have a 4mm spot of light to view your image.that is small and you have to consider how large or small your pupils actually get. I believe about 7mm max in darkness and in bright light down to 3 or so I could be wrong. But the smaller the exiting light is at the focus the more sensitive to placement in relation to your eye the lenses are and the less total light can hit your eyes. So 7x35 would give you 5mm exiting light and 10x40 would give you 4mm exiting light or 20% smaller viewing alignment area. You would need 10x50 to get the same easy alignment as 7x35. But something like 7x70 would be ridiculous as you would have a 10mm spot to see and your pupil would not be able to admit that much light so big for no good reason. Just something to consider when your looking at optics. These will be used by a 12yr old for glassing from a tripod.they will work good for that. The colors and brightness will work well for him and if these fall off a cliff I won't wind up sitting and sobbing. In short if you want to use these for occasional viewing of distant object they will work well. If your on a budget these will do a decent job. If your going to spend days on end looking through them get higher end more pricey binoculars so you wont wind up with tired eyes.
