Review on πŸ“» Tram 1180 NMO Dual-Band Antenna VHF 144-148 and UHF 430-450 MHz for Mobile Radios - Amateur Edition by Amber Jensen

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Works well! good for antennas

I bought this to pair with a dual band Yaesu C4FM and a 6" magnetic cartridge mount after reading many positive reviews of this antenna from various sites! The rating I put in the middle is only for the weather protection because I haven't had it long and it's so good you never know what kind of weather we might see here in Illinois, as of yesterday we had Snow, (4/20/21) after mowing the lawn the day before? The antenna arrived in two pieces and assembly was quick and easy with the supplied hex key. here) not yet, but I also made sure Allen's "all" were tight! The pickup was center mounted on the roof and the SWR was 1.2 to 1 on VHF and 1.3 to 1 on UHF, unwrapped, according to the MFJ Antenna Analyzer! It's pretty flat here, but my town is in a steep hollow in the middle of the river. at 40 to 65 miles, with good reports and a 2m simplex contact at 65 miles or so! (Early morning, possible range boost?) Here I am in the driveway! This combination seems to work well as the law of reciprocity is at work as she hears just as well as she speaks! I, sketchy at best, so how did I discover the formula for the hot air balloon ride? However, this antenna works well and is worth a very affordable price! Build quality seems good! it helps ! But like everything else, do your homework and see if it works for your phone too ?'73 !
