Review on Geeni Look Indoor Smart Security Camera, 1080p HD Surveillance with 2-Way Talk and Motion Sensor, Compatible with Alexa and Google Home, No Hub Required, Black (2 Pack) by Eric Montgomery

Great value in a budget package.

I already owned its big brother, the outdoor cam, so had the app installed. Took about 10 seconds to set it up. This one seems somewhat more solid in terms of software. Advantage: using your own SD card means you don't have to subscribe to a cloud service to record. it will do so continuously and you can easily backtrack to any particular time setting. The incoming audio quality is fairly decent, did not try the talkback feature. If your wifi goes out, you will probably have to reconnect manually. The motion detection feature is far too delayed, but even the premium ding dong brands suffer from this. Your parcel kidnapper will be long gone before you get any notification. Best just to record continuously on the SD card, and use the motion detector warning to tell you that something happened recently. You will at least have the video. Exteror model cameras will give you false alarms all thru the night because spiders seem to gravitate towards the IR.You must have an Android or iOS device to use this. won't work on Windows or MacOS even if you install an Android emulator. They should consider developing a software package where you could actually use a few of these as an integrated home security system.
