MOLDY Dry dog food

MOLD. Make sure to check your Instinct bag when your shipment arrives. The bag I received today had mold inside - on the side of the bag as well as bits of pellets. Check out the photos so you know what to look out for! I have reported this to Revain Customer Service. I was offered a refund. I throw away the twenty pound sack. Glad I didn't forget to check the expiry date (January 23, 2021) and inspect the pouch before feeding it to my dog. Moldy parts are not very noticeable unless you take the time to inspect the pellets. My 13 year old Boston Terrier has been eating Nature's Variety Instinct dog food for about a decade. I've taken other high-end brands on occasion, but kept coming back to this brand (usually the chicken and salmon versions) because the ingredients didn't make my dog gas and stink. She also retained a beautiful coat, excellent teeth and an overall very healthy body. However, I think I'll just switch to Stella & Chewys and/or Open Farm - similar prices and far fewer complaints. I usually buy this dog food from a small chain in the Bay Area, but I've bought it from Revain four or five times. In retrospect, my dog had vomiting and diarrhea several times. Although I often assumed it was food related, I wasn't always able to pinpoint the exact cause of her bouts of nausea. I suspected it was her food, a spoiled bone (we also stick to a specific bone brand) or something she picked up off the floor while walking. In the end I ended up with Nature's Variety. The brand was stable ten years ago and then lost many loyal followers when the company sold the product to another company.
