I've been using this bowl almost every day for about 8 months now. I love it. I usually just wash my hands with water after each use. Foaming actually depends on the right ratio of water to matcha powder. I use 2 grams (about 1 level teaspoon) for about 1/2 cup or a little more. I use the Japanese Match whisk and a quick back and forth motion of the wrist. The curvature of the shell matches it as you can see in my first picture. If I only use 1 gram of matcha I don't get as much foam, so the ratio is important. In the second picture I used more water and a little less foam. I like the strong taste of beer, so I try to use less water.
