The plastic appears to be of high quality and has not been soiled or corroded by citrus or herbs in the few times I have used this pitcher, just like the previous diffuser I tried. However the lid of what I received did not screw flush with the shape of the container which upset the balance and interfered with pouring and was difficult for my kids to handle. The threads on the underside of the lid for attaching diffuser bodies were only tapped on each side and covered maybe 40% of the inside of the opening. I was concerned the threads would wear out faster there than if they were ALL threaded around the hole. There were typos in the recipe manual, which was odd but not necessarily a downside. The way the lid opens and closes was great and I liked that the opening was small and the water didn't spill out too quickly. I ended up sending it back as I could probably find a similar quality cheaper elsewhere that would be a little less "inexpensive".
