Can light candles and a gas stove. Electric current is like the spark/plasma of a mini Tesla coil. Fiction. Be careful though, I bet you could get burned or electrocuted or something. I plugged the lighter into a USB charger (not included) and was able to charge it. How many sparks per charge is not yet known. Edit 10/21/17: The lighter was used almost daily. About two months ago the lighter stopped working, but I removed the candle wax from the tips of the pins where the spark occurs and it started working again. Another month passes, and now the lighter finally stopped working, even after fully charging and cleaning the candle tips. Great new product, that's why I'm only deducting one star. Requires increased wear resistance. Also, the wick of the candle must protrude far enough for the lighter to work, otherwise the lighter pins will not be able to reach it.
