This little thing works great! I've used a bleeder valve in the past but was concerned that some people say the bleeder valve forces more air into the brake fluid, which draws more air and moisture into the fluid. It is best to press the brake pedal or bleed the bleed fittings. A vacuum would be nice, but the initial setup takes a lot more work. Another great trick for compressing pistons is to first open the air vent and then insert each brake piston. Fluid exits through this check valve instead of fighting every other brake piston. It makes life MUCH easier and doesn't push old fluid back up the brake lines or risk overfilling your reservoir.
