Easy to use and set up. The software is in the firmware, so it should always be there. After initial setup, a password or fingerprint is required to continue operation. Fingerprint is bullshit. I used to have a password protected drive. This works, but takes longer. The software only works on Windows, but once set up, the drive can be accessed with fingerprints on other computers, even Macs. A few fingers were tested that are not configured and have not granted them access. The only problem I've found is that if you already have multiple external drives, the installer won't find your drive and won't work properly. The fingerprint works even if it is already set up. After I removed the other external drives and reconnected this drive, the software starts correctly. This worries me: if I buy 2 of these drives, one for backup, will it work? I may have to set one up one at a time and then the fingerprint will let me open both. It looks like the fingerprint information is stored on the hard drive and not on the computer. When the program starts, you can make additional settings with the correct password and open the protected part of the disk. A fingerprint is therefore optional and is only for convenience.
