This is a great starter kit for the kit. Even if I bought each component individually or at the store for dollars, the cost of all the included goodies is still only $25.99. There is currently a 5% discount coupon which is $24.69. Included is a small melting pot that works like a steamer by placing it in a deeper pot of boiling water. This keeps the wax safe and dry and the little crucible doesn't burn or warp. Be careful and bring cooking gloves as the crucible will be hot, although soy wax melts at 120-180 degrees, too hot for a crucible. from the edges and twist all the short parts. Also includes 2.6 pounds of wax. Mine weighed a little less, but it was close. The included jars contain enough wax to fill all 8 candles. The colors are bright, they have a nice lid that doubles as a stand and the closable part keeps things tidy. However, it is not safe to place jars on non-combustible surfaces. The jars get very hot and come with a warning not to touch the jar or place it in areas that are not fireproof. It doesn't matter whether coasters are made of metal or are used outdoors on concrete. The kit also includes lots of wicks, two wick centering tools and lots of stickers. Although the jars are small, I have found that they require two wicks to burn well. The included wicks don't have a size or rating, but they're actually only 1-1.5 inches in diameter, so two will fit just fine. In fact, for what's in the kit, this is a good kit. Store-bought kits typically only contain 12-16 ounces of soy wax, including over 2.5 pounds. It also has lots of wicks, levelers, 8 jars, a pot, a spoon, stickers and a cute little repackaging box. for gifts or with children's projects.
