I probably should have read the description more, but who would believe that a drive, especially an external drive, is only compatible with certain versions of Windows?! Tried on 10 doesn't work, but apparently the seller has "off" because it's only described that way for Windows 7/8. Although it makes no sense. It's a simple basic drive, not a complex set of drivers to make it work. But more importantly, it doesn't work on Mac at all. Which directly contradicts the stated possibilities. MacBook Pro (2017) with Big Sur, yes I know MacBook only has USB-C ports and this product is standard USB, but I have an adapter for MacBook that converts USB-C port to standard USB, I use it constantly Read various devices connected to the USB standard, including flash drives. So it doesn't work. This is a piece of junk I just got today. When you plug it in (to USB 2.0 or 3.0) it just makes a (pretty loud) buzz and the green light on it glows very nice and pretty, but nothing. There is no detection of disks, nothing, there is a disk in it or not. It doesn't do anything when a disc is inserted, it just buzzes loudly without reading anything. Luckily it didn't eat any of the discs I put in in a vain attempt to get it to work. Keep it up, complete nonsense. Now I have to spend my own time to get it back.
