My partner and I recently bought a house together which to be honest has been a little nerve wracking because buying a house for an unmarried couple can be very intimidating but I think we'll pull through and that's it I say me every morning, at lunchtime and just before bed. After a major purchase we were commissioned to furnish a much larger area than our previous 2 bedroom apartment. It was such an exciting and rewarding experience because we can draw and hang stuff on the walls, but my goodness the furniture is expensive! What, how I knew but didn't want to know, you know, you know? You know how when you go to Taco Bell thinking you can order whatever amount of food is available, but then when you actually go to the window to pay and kind of spent $27 AGAIN just for myself to have?! Yes, that's right. In any case, we decided that used furniture would be a good option because it should be a more affordable option. So we went to our local antique fair and I know what you're thinking; "Why would you go to an antique fair during a mess? And you know what my dear reader? That's a great question, where were you when I needed you to tell me that 'antiques' are just overpriced used items? Why are other people's old stuff so expensive, OMG?! So it wasn't our route, luckily we stumbled across a thrift store across the street that is definitely not 100 percent the same as the antique market. And there I found the nicest teak cabin I needed for about the full mortgage payment. Can you belive that?! So I did what any decent millennial with messy spending would do: I canceled my order for Anton's dining table in West Elm and bought my cage! I rented a truck to bring it home, then set it up in my kitchen, loaded it with spirits, blenders, shot glasses, pints and all the tools I needed for my little kitchen bar. Now imagine my surprise when I open the cupboard, pull out a bottle of Bulliet Bourbon, and find myself a traditional whiskey sour (with egg whites!) bookshelf. I was devastated. Did you know you can't just return something at a thrift store? I don't know either, I was afraid to ask. Confrontation is not my forte, but there are reviews on Amazon. So I found this incredibly well made and easy to install Douper 100N/22lb Gas Spring Pivot and it really made a difference to me. YOU guys, I've been pouring, mixing and shaking and everything has been so great I can't even begin to think about how financially irresponsible many of my decisions over the last 6 months have been! I especially like the slow opening and closing which protects my little old cage. Try it, you will like it! Definitely :) #5StarsWouldRecomend
