I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the level. I compared it to a mechanic's level, which is accurate to thousands of inches by ten feet, and it worked pretty well. Right out of the box, the device was within 0.1 degrees of zero as advertised - not perfect, but very good. How accurate it is from scratch I can't say as I haven't had time to do a more thorough test. The readings are not instantaneous, sometimes it takes a few seconds to stabilize, but this is much faster than the driver's level. It's great for quick, rough adjustments that can then be fine-tuned with another layer if needed.
