Poor trigger on power drills

I have had a Bosch 18v power drill for about 6 years and have been very happy with it. One day his cartridge jammed and I needed a new one. I saw this and thought it would be a good replacement and even used the same batteries. However, when I used it in 2 projects, I was unsatisfied with its performance. The first time I used it to drill holes to attach a handle to a playset and found that the compact design meant that the body of the drill got in the way of the handle I was using to guide the hole. Not a big deal as I was able to start the hole and then remove the handle to drill without interference. On a second project, I was trying to put a screw on a cabinet door to keep it from slipping out of position, and noticed that the trigger didn't provide the nice linear response that my old unit had. What I mean is that if you push down a little, the drill bit should turn very slowly but with full torque. If you press harder, it should go faster. Well, this one seems to have a faulty trigger, as a slow pull might not get the motor to spin at all, and then it'll run at full speed by the time you reach the end of the trigger pull. This resulted in me sanding the hole in the closet door and destroying the hole that can't be moved. Usually Bosch is a good brand but this unit was worse than junk because not only did it fail, it failed in a way that damaged what I was working on. I think I'll replace it with Dewalt.

Cons
