Reliable and simple controller

Good simple controller, no display required, just a throttle. I use it on my geared hub motor - the motor ran backwards when the phase wires and hall wires were connected to all wire colors so 2 phase wires had to be swapped. You should probably swap the appropriate hall leads as well, but you can connect the learn function's green wires and engage the throttle, which corrects the hall sensors internally. The quality looks good inside the controller, 12 MOSFETs. I used this controller with a 500w Bafang BPM motor so I kept the connector on the old controller and wired it into this controller to make it look neater and use the standard wiring harness. I'm adding current sensing with an INA122 op amp so I can use it with my own battery monitor like Cycle Analyst. The 'Autometer' wire is the speed output wire where speed is roughly 1:1 as voltage (24 mph = 24 volts) and you can buy a speedometer and voltage gauge for about $7 that comes with the speed calibration pot. The alarm connector outputs full battery voltage, so purchase a suitable alarm if you wish. The "Power and Electrical Lock" connector contains thick battery wires and a separate thin wire for turning on the power. Connect the positive battery terminal to the thin wire and the power will turn on, allowing you to adjust the on/off switch. The only downside to this controller is that it is slightly larger, about twice the size of my previous controller. But that's actually a plus point for me, because there's room for modifications inside the device.
