Review on ATD Tools 3301: Comprehensive 27-Piece Master Cooling System Pressure Test and Refill Kit by Brian Stepp

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good product, good price

So far so good. I haven't had a chance to use all the adapters and make sure they're all tight, some I may never use. Basically I bought this for a GM adapter that bolts on a new type of coolant reservoir with an overflow. I have to say I was unhappy when it initially didn't seal, but the problem was easily fixed by replacing the o-ring on the adapter with the o-ring from the radiator cap. I've used it on a few other cars since, mostly with the traditional reversible cover, and it's worked flawlessly. I finally used the vacuum fill function for the first time on a 13 year old Dodge Journey (they have 2 thermostats!) and it seemed to work fine. It seemed a little slow. for me, but it's the first one I've ever used so fill times may be comparable to others. I have no doubt it was quicker than trying to pull the hoses out and fill the block and radiator with coolant by hand and then run and repeat removing any air pockets. All in all this is a really good kit at a great price and should work with almost any cooling system. The instruction manual isn't the best but it suffices, the only instruction needed is how to operate the vacuum cleaner, fill out the attachment and that was enough, you only have to flip back and forth p times to find the If you see part numbers mentioned because they are not shown in the instructions, they are listed in the parts/contents list on the next page. The nipple on the vacuum fill unit that fits my air hose isn't a big deal, just unscrew it and screw in the right style for your hose. wait, but from the looks of it, it should last a long time. Updated 8/7/19. After more than 4 years of use, one of the adapters finally failed and fell apart. The middle came out of the #21 adapter and is one of the ones I use the most. It looks like they were assembled with gray RTV silicone. I may have to buy a whole set of adapters to get an adapter unless I can fix mine, maybe with liquid steel. or something similar. I've found that the o-rings on the adapters seem to be oversized, making them too tight even with lube, and I believe this is what eventually leads to failure. Some adapters like the old style inner cap didn't even fit until I replaced the o-rings. It held up well for the amount I used. Maintaining a 4 star rating due to the oversized o-rings and fitment of the adapters. .
