Before purchasing I asked a number of questions about the effectiveness of this product for the above vehicle - I answered both 'yes' and ' Noβ replies received. Here are the facts: 1. Yes, this tool will work with the above engine - this engine is actually a Ford engine and can be found in many Ford and Mazda vehicles from 2008 to 2015 (with some minor differences specific to this tool do not apply). .2. The tool will hold the cams properly while the engine is running; However, care must be taken to apply force to the crank as this can cause the tools to slip (very easily) enough to cause a problem when installing new timing chains.3. It's pretty obvious that slippage has occurred just by looking at the instruments and noting that they aren't fully supported by the heads. Easier to attach, but with reverse force on the crank, the jaws move very little and the tools fall back down.4. When the instruments are in the correct position, the CAMS are properly aligned.5. When installing timing chains, I strongly recommend "counting the links" between timing marks to ensure timing is correct. ** The reason why this tool didn't get 5 stars is due to the slight deviation described above. To be fair this could be due to slight CAM wear in the engine (engine over 100,000 miles).
